Arts Immersion
"Giving Something Back" Fairfax County Council of the ARTS Artsfax, 1991 Editors Note: This is an interview with Carol Harrison, a visual artist who is participating in the Council's Arts Immersion Program. Funded by Mobil Foundation. "Carol concentrates on portraiture. She has done other works, like a series of Georgetown scenes commissioned by a D.C. law firm. She has been a guest lecturer at George Mason University and Shepherd College, and has also been a part of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts' Artis Workshop Program. If she instills her enthusiasm in her students, perhaps some of them will come away thinking along the lines Carol does: 'There is nothing I would rather be doing. Nothing compares to photography. I look at friends' paintings in shows and I wonder why they do that when they could be taking photos." |
