Formal Dog and Cat Portraits

"Dog Days at Kathleen Ewing"

By Pamela Kessler
"Galleries," The Washington Post
August 6, 1988

The third annual "Dog Days at Kathleen Ewing Gallery is a better breed...
this year it's really a dog lover's delight.
The photographs, especially, offer
a lot to chew on.

Dog's in disguise, dogs in men's clothing, dogs in
sheep's clothing...Dogs in barrios...

Carol Harrison chronicles the ears of the tiny papillon
(ears seem to be the only thing about the dog that grows)...

It would be hard to give out ribbons for best in show.  A number of photographers go far beyond the inescapably cute, to explore dogdom."

and a cat or 3 !

I simply can't resist
a cat,
particularly
a purring one.
They are the cleanest, cunningest, and most intelligent things
I know,
outside of the girl you love,
of course.
